Taking a little self-time to help you relax and rejuvenate is an essential part of life.  One of the most favorite self care activities is taking out some time for a hot bath after a stressful day.  Check out five things to do for added relaxation to your bath:

1.  Create a Playlist for Bathtub Soaking

Music is known to have a profound effect on both the emotions and the body.  It can soothe the soul.  Music is a very effective tool for relaxation.  Make a playlist specifically for the time you are in the bathtub.  Try some slower tempos to relax your mind and muscles.  Start your playlist at the beginning of your bath, music on-world off!

2. Listen to an Audio Book

What is better than snuggling up with your favorite book for relaxation?  Listening to your favorite audio book while taking a bath.  Get lost in a romance novel or mystery book all while you are encompassed in warm soothing bath water!

3. Practice Mindfulness

Mindfulness anchors you to the present moment.  A recent study shows mindfulness to be an effective prescription for depression and anxiety.  Next time you are in the bath, focus on your breathing and then think about your values and what makes you happy.  Practicing mindfulness on a daily basis results in less stress and anxiety.

4.  Be Electronic-Free

Shut down Instagram, better yet, turn off your phone.  Even if your phone is off, try not to bring it in the bathroom during your bath, this will avoid the temptation of reaching for it.  Take this time to yourself, without all the notifications stressing you out!

5.  Foot Massage

After a stressful day, there is nothing better than a foot massage.  You can do this yourself, while you are in the bathtub.  Try this massage or come up with one of your own.  It is a great thing to show your feet some love - especially while bathing.

Inarguably, relaxing and bathing go hand in hand.  Pelham and White focuses exclusively on producing the industry's best stand-alone bathtubs contact us today and learn more about our beautiful tubs!
